ITMA – Asian Games 2026
Muay Boran | Pro-Am Muaythai | UBF Boxing Championships
The ITMA – Asian Games 2026 is a prestigious international martial arts championship officially sanctioned by the World Muaythai Organization (WMO), the World Muay Boran Federation (WMBF), and the Union Boxing Federation (UBF).
The event has also been formally approved by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, operating under the Ministry of Tourism, Sri Lanka. Additional institutional collaborations, including engagement with the Royal Thai Embassy in Sri Lanka and relevant local municipal authorities, are currently in progress.
This landmark championship will bring together elite athletes, officials, coaches, and international representatives from across Asia and beyond, celebrating excellence in both traditional and modern combat sports.
All key approvals are in place, with remaining logistical and administrative arrangements proceeding as scheduled. Participants are assured of a professionally delivered, internationally recognized event—and are strongly encouraged not to miss this historic championship.
The event features the Muay Boran, Pro-Am Muaythai, and UBF Boxing Championships, alongside an Official Seminar Program including Referee Certification, Muay Boran, and Boxing Seminars, designed to enhance technical standards and professional development.
The championships will be held in Negombo, Sri Lanka, a safe, vibrant, and tourist-friendly coastal city located just 25 minutes from Bandaranaike International Airport, making it an ideal destination for international participants.
The entire event will be hosted within the hotel venue, with the main fight ring set outdoors on the beachfront, creating a spectacular and unforgettable atmosphere for both athletes and spectators. Seminars and training sessions will be conducted in the mornings, utilizing both indoor facilities and the beach, offering a unique and inspiring training environment.
The venue provides excellent facilities, operational flexibility, and convenient access to a wide variety of restaurants, particularly renowned for fresh seafood along with numerous local attractions for participants and visitors to enjoy throughout their stay.
Equipment
All athletes must have their own gum shield, groin guard (for males), gauze hand wraps, tape, boxing oil, Vaseline, Mongko l/ Prajeat, Team uniform/shirt

Pro-am Muay Thai
In the Pro-Am Muay Thai division, categories with two to three competitors will be conducted as Prestige Bouts. These bouts are officially sanctioned but do not carry a championship belt. Categories with four or more competitors (for example, a four-man tournament) will be recognized as a Championship Category. In such cases, a ceremonial championship belt will be presented to the winner during the official awards ceremony. This belt is for presentation purposes only and must be returned to the organizers immediately after the ceremony. Winners of four-man tournaments will be eligible to order an official championship belt from the World Muaythai Organization (WMO) at their own cost, either personally or through their team or sponsor
Professional Muay Thai
63.5kg – Asian Title fight belt will be awarded to the winner.
Additionally, open International professional categories can be arranged upon request.
Please note:
Each weight category requires a minimum of two competitors; if this minimum is not met, no bout will be scheduled. Teams will be contacted closer to the event to arrange suitable matches where possible, and early registration is strongly encouraged to help avoid scheduling issues.
Amateur Muay Boran & UBF Boxing
Described in kilograms as maximum allowance for that category
Professional Muay Thai
63.5kg – Asian Title fight belt will be awarded to the winner.
Prizes, medals Gold, Silver and Bronze medals for all winners
Medical & Insurance
Participants must bring a medical examination certificate to prove they are fit to take part (not older than 12 months) or they will have to undergo a formal examination in Thailand and will be charged extra.
All participants must have medical certificate declare fit to take part in the sport.
Must have private Medical and travel insurance.
Participants are responsible for their own visa. Please speak with your National representative regarding any VISA requirements or apply for a VISA from your own Embassy, Consulate or VISA Office in your country.
